ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Regular Spread

Sometimes Instagram’s algorithm really does get it right. That was the case when Regular Spread popped up in my Instagram feed with their track ‘Love Maker’.

Regular Spread consists of Melbourne-based musicians: Daniel Evans, Jimi Connor, Ted Tilbrook, and Tahj Rosmarin. The band blends hazy melodies with a laid-back energy which they’ve described as ‘faking jazz’ on their Bandcamp.

Their latest single, ‘Ode to Jens’ was released on April 14 which is accompanied by a beautifully shot live version on YouTube. After digging into their discography, it looks like Regular Spread hadn’t released anything since 2020, but they’re back in a big way with their first record, ‘Time Lapse’, set to drop on May 26. If their two most recent singles are anything to go by, I’m excited to hear more.
